What To Write On A Valentine's Day Card

What To Say On The Card On Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day or St. Valentine's Day comes around every year on February 14th. It is the time of year that we celebrate romantic love. If you think about it, what a wonderful holiday that is! It is the time of year that we tell that special someone, in our lives, just how much they truly mean to us.

Each year, for those that are in love we may purchase gifts for that special someone. We will visit flower shops, gift shops and candy shops looking for that perfect gift. This will probably be the easy part. Beautiful long stem red roses and a box of gourmet chocolates are sure to impress. Expressing your feelings on that card might not be as easy, because you want to say, just the right things, to the one you love.

Thinking of what to say on your Valentine's day card shouldn't be difficult. Love is a beautiful emotion that should be kept free of worry or anxiety, in my opinion. Yet, it is understandable that we desire to say just the right words to the person we love.

I think that a good idea is to think about your relationship at that moment, before expressing your love.  I suggest that you think back on the times you have spent with that special someone and try to remember what moved them. What song or songs do they like? What lyrics do they enjoy? What movie did they really like? What poems or poets to they enjoy? What have you said to them before that seemed to touch them?

If you can somehow remind them in your card of something that moved or touched them in the past, I believe it will move them again and the memory will stay with them for a long time after. The reason is because, that song, poem or movie was memorable to begin with. If you let them know that you remembered how they felt or reacted to that song or movie then, will let them know that you have thought of them and appreciated them in such a personal way, now and in the past. You can write something on your Valentine's day card that incorporates some of those lyrics or movie lines and say: I remember how that moved you.

You could write about the most special time that you have spent together with your loved one and remind them of that specific time and place. Remind them of how you felt then and how much it meant to you.

Sometimes less is better. There is still nothing to compare to the simple but classic I love You.
